Dr. Trogawa Rinpoche was one of the few Tibetan physicians to take refuge in India, and who carries Chagpori lineage. He was one of the first professor to teach at Men-Tse-Khang in Daramsala, India, which was established by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. Rinpoche realized that  Chagpori lineage was disappearing and in the year 1992,  “Chagpori Tibetan Medical Institute” was established at  Darjeeling, West Bengal in India. There are now three pillars of Chagpori: The Medical school, the clinic, and the pharmacy. Today, there are so many Chagpori  Amchis practicing traditional Tibetan Medicine successfully all over the world. Dr. Yonten is one the Chagpori alumini.

Dr. Trogawa Rinpoche passed away in the year, 2005 after having spent seven days in a transcendental state. His legacy lives on through his students, his teachings and in everyone he was able to benefit.
